PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING WHEN I WAS YOUNG

When i was growing up wrestling was a pretty big deal in my family.I dont think I can remember a family member who wasnt a pofessional wrestling fan.And when I say professional,I mean fake of course. But that didnt matter. The adults liked it and us kids loved it!I remember my granny was really in to it.She used to get so mad sometimes. She would yell at the tv when some bad guy cheated. And of course the ref some how didnt see that roll of quarters,or his back was turned when some guy was geting hit over the head with a metal chair! But that was the things that made it so good.It wasnt just two guys in there fighting. It was entertainment! There were so many different wrestlers, and everyone had there favorite. There were texas cowboys,Indians,Russians,There were bikers and rocken rollers! And the list just keeps going. And they used all these different personalities to come up with storylines, and fueds between the wrestlers. It was like a soap opera were the actors beat the crap out of each other! While watching a match your emotions would go crazy! If your guy was wining you were fine. But as soon as he got in to trouble, then you were on your knees holding your breath.Maybe he was about to be pind, Or he was caught up in a submission hold. But if you cheered him on ,then maybe ! just maybe! he could come back. And a lot of the time he did.Riseing up from the edge of defeat for one last push!Feeding off of the crowd, and feeding off of your cheers! And just when it looked like he might be able pull it out! The commentator would say, sorry folks were out of time! And that was that , off to bed.Wondering if he had been able to win it .Man that was Terrible! I had many favorites back then,The Junk Yard Dog, Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant, Magnum TA, Super Star, Wrestler #2, But my very favorite was Ric Flair!  Good or bad he was the man!  Most of my time spent watching wrestling was with my brother and my dad. These are good memories ,and Im glad that I  share them with my family! I dont spend much time watching it anymore .  Maybe its because im older now ,or maybe its because wrestling has changed so much.  But I do sometimes flip the channel over to check it out.I guess I always will .  So to professional wrestling  I  would like to say  ,Thank you for the memories, and Thanks for the good Times!

Ric Flair WAS awesome! I loved his "Whooooo!" And this might date me a bit, but I also loved Dick the Bruiser, who used to wrestle in Detroit many years back. He was a short man but when he'd get mad, his face would get all red and he's throw guys around like flypaper! One time he got mad after a bout and it took 10 cops to get him down! Those were the days...
